The $w$-FF property in trivial extensions

‎Let $D$ be an integral domain with quotient field $K$‎, ‎$E$ be a $K$-vector space‎, ‎$R = D propto E$ be the trivial extension of $D$ by $E$‎, ‎and $w$ be the so-called $w$-operation‎. ‎In this paper‎, ‎we show that‎ ‎$R$ is a $w$-FF ring if and only if $D$ is a $w$-FF domain; and‎ ‎in this case‎, ‎each $w$-flat $w$-ideal of $R$ is $w$-invertible.

A Join Operator for Property Graphs

In the graph database literature the term “join” does not refer to an operator combining two graphs, but involves path traversal queries over a single graph. Current languages express binary joins through the combination of path traversal queries with graph creation operations. Such solution proves to be not efficient. In this paper we introduce a binary graph join operator and a corresponding ...

The Paving Property for Uniformly Bounded Matrices

Abstract. This note presents a new proof of an important result due to Bourgain and Tzafriri that provides a partial solution to the Kadison–Singer problem. The result shows that every unitnorm matrix whose entries are relatively small in comparison with its dimension can be paved by a partition of constant size. That is, the coordinates can be partitioned into a constant number of blocks so th...

On the Finiteness Property for Rational Matrices

We analyze the periodicity of optimal long products of matrices. A set of matrices is said to have the finiteness property if the maximal rate of growth of long products of matrices taken from the set can be obtained by a periodic product. It was conjectured a decade ago that all finite sets of real matrices have the finiteness property. This conjecture, known as the “finiteness conjecture”, is...

The Borel property for 4-dimensional matrices

In 1909 Borel has proved that “Almost all of the sequences of 0’s and 1’s are Cesàro summable to 1 2 ". Then Hill has generalized Borel’s result to two dimensional matrices. In this paper we investigate the Borel property for 4-dimensional matrices.
